Introduction

Cloud Hub is an ‘alternative provision’ for pupils permanently excluded and those who are close to exclusion from the authority’s mainstream schools at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3.

We can provide tutoring sessions and short-term provision for learners who are unable to attend school because of a medical need or who need a short-term intervention, to support their return and successfully re-engagement with mainstream school.

Our Aims

  • To re-integrate children back into a mainstream or specialist school for the following Key Stages and Year Groups:

→ Key Stage 1 – ages 5-7 (Years 1-2)
→ Key Stage 2 – ages 7-11 (Years 3-6)
→ Key Stage 3 – ages 11-14 (Years 7-9)

  • To provide appropriate short term educational provision (including working towards AQA Unit Awards), to pupils who have been permanently excluded.

  • To prepare and support pupils in their next step of education, wherever possible.

  • To provide a turnaround provision for those pupils who are at risk of permanent exclusion.

How these aims will be achieved:

  • Accessing a child-centred, structured environment where learners can learn and develop with increased effectiveness.

  • A thorough identification and assessment of individual needs.

  • Planned programmes of education which respond to those identified individual needs.

  • Having a focus on build up and develop children’s wellbeing, self-esteem and confidence

  • Access to a broad, balanced, relevant curriculum that supports the personal, social, moral, spiritual, physical and academic development of pupils.

  • Full assessment of progress in learning and recognition of achievement through accreditation working in close partnership with parents / carers.

  • By working closely with external agencies and our partner schools to identify the needs of the child, develop the child’s ability to learn - so that each child feels confident about being in the classroom or learning environment.

  • Supporting pupil transition into their next stage of education.
